The instructions explains how to measure the jump rope for beginner or experienced jumper. After proper measurement, you use the screw adjustment and then cut the excess rope. The wire is coated, lightweight and handles are plastic. It also comes with extra rubber stoppers and pouch to carry it it. The size makes it easy to store or travel with. My kids love to jump rope and have been fighting over this one since I got it. My opinion is that it is a great addition to any exercise routine.
