These are a great set of liquid chalk markers to have if you are a crafter or older kids. They are non-toxic and are water based. They can be used on any number of non-porous surfaces. To activate for first time use, you push the tip down once. Put the lid back on and shake it a few times. Then you press the tip down for several seconds till it is filled with the ink. The ink dries real quick. My oldest daughter used it on her whiteboard and it cleaned off real easy with a dry paper towel. The market tips are reversible; chiseled or bullet. I said older kids in the beginning because when you reverse the tip, you just take the tip out and flip it. The liquid ink did get on my fingers but washed off easily with water. Younger kids can use them too but you may want to supervise. The colors are vibrant. I am happy with these markers. My daughter loves them for her whiteboard because of the ease of use and clean up.
